The main healthcare facility in Markham is Markham Stouffville Hospital. It is also where Shouldice Hospital is located, one of the world’s top special centres treating people with hernias.

Transportation-wise, Markham provides an infrastructural system including public transit, train services, and airports.

Buttonville Municipal Airport and Markham Airport provide their services to Markham’s residents. As an alternative, citizens also use Toronto Pearson International Airport due to its proximity to Markham.

As for post-secondary education, there is a campus of Seneca College, which also houses the Confucius Institute. In 2020, York University also announced its plans of opening a campus in Markham.

Markham boasts of its historic centre with a shopping area and residential neighbourhoods. The places to visit include the Pacific Mall, Markham Museum, Heintzman House, and Thornhill village.
